Good Morning!

I am having protein hot chocolate this morning and hoping for another beautiful day here in Mid-Michigan.
I still am recouping so I can't get out and do all the things I would be doing on these nice days so I'm finding it a little frustrating . . but I did sit in the sun for a few minutes yesterday and it felt great.

QOTD - What's up for your Sunday . . do you have a routine that you follow on Sunday  . church . . out to breakfast??
Because I usually work on Sunday getting to church only happens every 5th Sunday when I'm off.  But I love to watch football and cook a nice dinner.

Enjoy your day . .

Good Morning,
I am not sure what I am doing today.  I hope it is nice as it was yesterday.  QOTD: I normally do all my running around, grocery shopping.  I am recouping also so my days have been very lazy this last week.  Next Friday I go for my 2 week checkup and I hope I can get released to do more.  Dinner is in the crockpot already.  Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Good After noon kristy and Christine, & the rest of the Michiganders.

Where is everyone this Sunday?
I just polished off 2 oz of diluted oatmeal and am sipping on my strawberry Kiwi protein drink form betterMD.com.
What's in Your Cup?

I spent the whole day out side with he kids doing leaves, until they kick me in the house cause I kept trying to do things, like rake. they would only let me steady the leaf bags. LOL. I felt pretty good. They let me drive the lawn tractor a few times. Then they shooed me away from there too.
Well we got the font yard done with 8 full leaf bags. Today may be the back yard. It is worse.

QOTD: our ritual is a Sunday dinner. usually a roast with the trimmings. Don't matter who has to work what hours they all wait for that dinner. Even if they have to leave for work at noon. so I get up and put it on about  8 am and then it is done by then. I know I call it dinner but it is an early dinner 1130 - 12 ish. Then they can eat left overs the rest of the day.

I hope you all have a Happy Safe Sunday!

Morning Fellow Michiganders!
What another beautiful day here!   Can we keep this weather for a while,  say  till Dec 21st?
Had a protein drink  while cooking about a hundred slices of french toast!   We got our 5 teens again last night that we get when ever gramma is in the hospital.   We keep them for their church family to keep them out of the foster system.    We are licensed foster home so we get away with it on a temporary basis once in a while so the dimwitted social workers of our county leave them alone.
Made a huge pot roast full of a lot of fresh veggies for lunch.   kids finished eating at 930   they just got home from church and are trying to convince me they are starving to death and need another meal between now and dinner at 1!      is it possible to fill up teenagers?  I sure haven't figured out how!
Our Sunday routine  usually involves church  family type dinner   then what ever suits our fancy for the day .
Have a great Michigan day everyone!

Wow slim postings today.  Kristy, how do you make your hot chocolate protein drink without it getting lumpy?  I've tried blending it and then heating it, I've tried mixing cold milk with the protein and then adding the hot milk, it keeps coming up lumpy.  I tried blending it after it turned lumpy without luck.  HELP.

Last night my son threw a surprise graduation party for his wife.  She was really surprised.  Her family came to wish her congratulations even.

Since hubby had foot surgery on Friday we didn't do much of anything today.  I raked the front lawn at our rental house and we sat around our son's house most of the day.  I took the dogs for a short walk too.

Left over broasted chicken and potatoes for dinner from the party.

Make sure you keep the liquid lower than 130 degrees.  I use the SF hot chocolate mix that uses water - put it in the microwave (test it for temp using a meat thermometer), add it to the chocolate mix and then add my vanilla to it.

Jan,

What kind of protein are you using?

I bought the vanilla Body Fortress from Walmart, the one Pam T recommends.  I mix it with a SF packet of cocoa mix (Swiss Miss).
Add  about 1/3 cup warm water.  Mix. Add rest of ho****er.  Heat in microwave.

I am very happy with this combination.  Before I was using soy protein and I never could get it to mix up.

I use Body Fortress too.  I don't have any trouble with the protein chai tea, but I do with the hot cocoa.  Oh wait a minute, I haven't been using the chocolate Body Fortress, but have been using the Gold Standard Chocolate Whey protein.  Looks like I'll have to go back to the body fortress.  The only thing with the Gold Standard is that when you get to the bottom it doesn't get gritty like the body fortress.  I've always used Whey protein.
It is what it is.
If He brings you to it, He'll bring you through it...

Hey Jan . . you look great by the way!

I put my scoop of protein powder, packet of sf hot chocolate and 1/4 to 1/2 cup of skim milk and a splash of sf french vanilla syrup together and whisk it together kind of like a paste . . and then add the ho****er . . works every time . . I think it's the milk that helps it smooth out.
